Captain America at Remembering WWII!Captain America

All day Feature on Saturday

The history of Captain America in the 1940s is a fascinating one — the very first comic book was released in March 1941 (nearly nine months before Pearl Harbor) and featured Cap punching Hitler in the jaw, a not-so-subtle piece of pro-intervention propaganda. The comics quickly became wildly popular, circulating at millions of copies and spawning a popular film serial. Our 1940s Cap will be available for taking photos and signing autographs throughout Saturday!

Veterans Parade at Remembering WWII!Veterans Parade

The Remembering WWII Veterans’ Parade is a beautiful time of honor and celebration. Led by the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) Color Guard & Marching Band, antique military and civilian vehicles carry veterans down Linden’s main street (see map for location), with bystanders waving flags and children handing flowers to the vets as they pass by. This year, as the crowning touch, the Red Thunder Air Show Team will provide a flyover. 2:30pm on Saturday – don’t miss it!

USS IndianapolisUSS Indianapolis: The Legacy – all day feature

All day Feature on Saturday

Torpedoed by Japanese submarine I-58 on July 30, 1945, the USS Indianapolis and her 1,196-man crew sank in 12 minutes. Hear their story in their own words and view rare historical images & footage in the documentary film USS Indianapolis: The Legacy. First showing at 9AM on Saturday and will play throughout the day (see map for location).
